William Mattar Law Offices Go Pink in October to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness
Each October, cities, towns, and communities across the country are decked out in pink to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Beginning September 28th, William Mattar, P.C. will turn its famous blue logo pink in an effort to raise awareness about breast health.
This initiative also stresses the importance of monthly self-breast exams and regular mammogram screenings. According to the American Cancer Society, about 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 13%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. Mammograms save lives, and at William Mattar, we want to remind the women of our community of the importance of routine examinations. And although less common, men can develop breast cancer as well and should be aware of risk factors. Early detection makes successful treatment a possibility in many cases.
William Mattar Supports American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
William Mattar supports the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program in New York State, in cities throughout New York, including Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse, Binghamton, Rochester, and Utica. Making Strides organizes the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation that raise money to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide patient services, such as free rides to treatment, patient lodging, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline.
October 2023 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Events in New York:
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer holds annual walks in cities throughout the country to raise money for breast cancer research and services. Some of this year’s fundraising events will move forward in person, in accordance with local health guidelines and regulations. - In 2020, an estimated 276,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in the U.S. as well as 48,530 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.

- An estimated 2,620 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year in the United States.
