Buckle Your Belt Classroom Contest Winners

Posted: October 16, 2017

Getting back to school in the fall is always a busy time. Teachers getting classrooms ready, parents and students working to get back into the routine, and here at William Mattar it’s a busy time for us, too.

Before the start of the school year, we held our Pencils 4 Schools campaign which has brought our donation to one million pencils since the program started just a few years ago. And the month of September saw our annual William Mattar Buckle Your Belt Classroom Contest where students take the pledge to wear their seat belt every time they travel in a vehicle. Classrooms are then entered in the contest to win a pizza party.

We are happy to announce the 2017 pizza party winners! Each of these teachers will be treating their students to a pizza party courtesy of car injury attorney William Mattar:

– Paul Nuchereno, South Buffalo Charter School, Buffalo
– Jennifer Fudella, Grabiarz School of Excellence, Buffalo
– Shana Webster, Buffalo United Charter School, Buffalo
– Matthew Fredrick, Falconer Central Schools, Falconer
– Laura Smith, Cheektowaga Central School, Cheektowaga
– Lynne Akin, Ben Franklin Elementary, Tonawanda
– Sunnie Ventry, Cataract Elementary School, Niagara Falls
– Mary Kiblin, Southside Elementary School, Buffalo
– Karen Nolan, Hamlin Park School #74, Buffalo
– Kristin Condino, BPS #45 International, Buffalo
– Victor Prisaznuk, Cleveland Hill Middle School, Cheektowaga

Thank you to all of the students who pledged to buckle their seat belts and to all of teachers who entered the contest. Be safe!
