There are many contributing factors that can cause car crashes, one of which is defective equipment. The Car Accident Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices explain faulty auto parts can be the result of a lack of proper maintenance or a manufacturing mistakes. In fact, automobile manufacturer, Tesla, recently recalled an estimated 29,000 vehicles due to a risk of engine fires.

Reports from The Huffington Post state the recall was announced on Tuesday after the company received several reports of vehicles catching fire. Some of the cars ignited while electric batteries were being charged, while others caught fire while being driven. Investigators determined overheating of the vehicles’ batteries was responsible, a claim the company initially denied. Tesla has since recanted, offering owners new charging adapters and a software upgrade to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

The situation has many car owners wondering what they can do to ensure their vehicle equipment is functioning properly.

William Mattar’s Buffalo Personal Injury Lawyers suggest checking for any outstanding recalls on the make and model of your particular vehicle. If recalls have been issued, immediately take the vehicle to the nearest affiliated repair center to have the problem corrected. Car owners should also follow a scheduled vehicle maintenance plan with dealerships or trusted mechanics.
