Long Island Woman Dies in Groton Car Crash

A 27-year-old Long Island, New York, woman died early Saturday morning in a car accident on Interstate 95 in Groton.
The woman was a passenger in a Toyota Sienna and was sitting in the backseat at the time of the crash. Police told TheDay.com that it was 1:30 a.m. when the car veered left off the road, hit a guardrail, skidded down the highway, and flipped over.
The woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The 27-year-old driver, a male from Newport, Rhode Island, who was wearing a seatbelt, was treated and released from Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
