A Buffalo Car Crash yesterday afternoon left five motorists injured. Reports from the Buffalo Police Department indicate the crash occurred at around 3 p.m. at the corner of Clinton and Lord Streets.

An article from WIVB 4 News explained that a vehicle carrying two men collided with another car with three passengers. Detectives were able to determine that contact was made when one of the vehicles attempted to pass the other. The impact of the sideswipe had enough force to send the vehicle carrying the two men flying through the air where it struck a bridge piling and burst into flames.

The two men escaped the burning vehicle and were rushed to a local trauma center for injuries that were described as “serious.” The three passengers in the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and released.

The accident leaves many wondering who covers the costs of an accident where fault is divided among more than one party.

The Buffalo Personal Injury Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices explain that New York is a no-fault insurance state. This means that anyone who is injured in an auto accident has a right to certain benefits regardless of who caused the crash. This compensation may be able to cover damages such as medical bills, lost wages, and  other injury-related expenses.
