The Post Standard reports that a mother and her two children were taken to the hospital following a Watertown auto accident. Their vehicle was side swiped by another car whose driver fell asleep at the wheel.

The Watertown auto accident happened on State Route 3. A 20-year-old female was driving a Jeep when she fell asleep and crossed over into the westbound lane. After he swiped another vehicle, his Jeep rolled over and landed on the shoulder.

Five people were transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries following the Watertown auto accident. The driver who caused the Watertown auto accident was issued a ticket for failure to keep right and not wearing a seat belt.

Do you think there should be stricter penalties than a ticket for falling asleep at the wheel? Does it show negligence on the part of the driver, or is it simply an accident? Do you think the driver should be held responsible for any damages?
