Holiday traffic congestion can make December one of the most dangerous times to be on the road. But even though distracted and drunken driving are two issues usually attributed to causing auto accidents, not all accidents are caused by negligence. In some cases, medical emergencies can cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles.
That was the case this morning in Orchard Park. Police responded to an emergency call on Jewett Holmwood Road, east of Freeman Road, at around 9:15 a.m. A car driven by a 67-year-old driver had driven off the road into a wooded area. The driver was taken to South Buffalo Mercy hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities believe a medical condition caused the driver to lose control of his car.
The auto accident attorneys at William Mattar Injury Lawyers send their deepest sympathies to the victim’s family and friends, and they remind drivers to stay careful and alert this holiday season.
