The victims that were killed in Tuesday’s three-car Goshen crash have now been identified by state police. They were both from the Town of Warwick, New York, according to RecordonLine.com.

The woman was 74, and the man was 86.

At about 2:45 p.m. the woman was driving a 2004 Volvo on Route 17 A just north of Quarry road. The car crossed the double-yellow line and hit a 2006 Chrysler minivan head-on driven by the man. Both were declared dead on the scene.

State Police Captain Joseph Tripodo said that it was unclear why the woman crossed the double line. “We may never know,” he said.

A third car driven by a 23-year-old woman was traveling behind the Chrysler minivan and tried to avoid the collision. Her car struck the 74-year-old woman’s Volvo, but the young woman was not injured.

The Mid-Hudson News reports that Captain Tripodo said the cause of the crash is under investigation.  Police are investigating to determine if a medical issue was the cause.
