Claudia V. De Jesus
Claudia was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but was raised in Buffalo, New York. She double majored in anthropology and sociology at SUNY Buffalo, where she graduated cum laude. She then attended SUNY Buffalo Law School, where she was selected as a Buffalo Public Interest Program Fellow and earned her Juris Doctor in 2013.
Claudia has gained valuable experience through various competitive internships, including time spent with the Erie County District Attorney’s Office and the pro bono group, Volunteer Lawyers Project. These experiences have strengthened Claudia’s commitment to helping injured victims have a powerful voice and strong advocate in the courtroom.
We asked Claudia what she likes most about working at the firm. She said, “I have had the privilege to work at William Mattar for the majority of my legal career. What inspires me as an attorney at Mattar is right in line with our firm motto- helping people. I am privileged to work at a place where applying my skill set results in a positive outcome that impacts someone’s life. There is no better feeling than when a client thanks me for helping them through this very hard time in their life. Knowing the work we do at our firm is actively impacting people in a positive way is not only rewarding, but truly an honor. ”
When she has the chance, Claudia spends her free time walking her dog or rowing along one of western New York’s many waterways.
