Breast cancer affects as many as a quarter of a million women in the United States each year. There are also an estimated 2.9 million survivors. The Buffalo Personal Injury Lawyers with William Mattar Law Offices explain that such high numbers have prompted numerous organizations to work towards raising awareness and developing a cure.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month by the American Cancer Society is one of the largest campaigns working towards this goal. As part of the program, the organization has created numerous activities and events during the month of October to help educate the public about the serious risks the disease while raising funds for further research on the disease.

The group is currently helping women to develop early detection plans in their lives while also hosting events such as three- to five-mile walks.

The law firm is also doing its part to raise awareness of breast cancer by creating the William Mattar Breast Cancer Awareness program, which has partnered with several local events hosted by the American Cancer Society, including the Paint the Village PINK! program.

Anyone wishing to participate can make a donation at the firm’s office. The group will also be participating in local Make Strides Against Breast Cancer walks taking place this weekend. Those individuals who would like to get involved can register today.
