Police officer injured in 2001 Albany auto accident awarded $3.1 million

The Times Union reported that a police sergeant that was injured in an Albany car accident when a driver crashed into his patrol car has been awarded $3.1 million in damages.

The New York auto accident happened in 2001 when the sergeant was pursuing a van and the driver ran into his patrol car. The man who caused the Albany car accident is service 25 years to life in jail for the incident and was a repeat felon.
