Happy St. Patrick's Day from the William Mattar Law Offices!

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, and thousands of visitors and residents of Buffalo, New York, are celebrating! For many though, the holiday is synonymous with consuming alcohol, which can result in Buffalo Drunk Driving Accidents.

To address the risks posed by drunk drivers, law enforcement across the state of New York have been increasing patrols. These actions not only deter potentially intoxicated motorists from getting behind the wheel, but also gives officers and troopers the manpower needed to take significant numbers of drunk drivers off the road.

So far, the plan has been called a success. The Orchard Park Police Department reported six drunk driving arrests over the weekend. But just because the weekend’s efforts were exemplary doesn’t mean law enforcement won’t be out in full force tonight.

According to an article from TWC News, sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols will be conducted throughout the state this evening. That is why several local Buffalo organizations will be offering free cab rides home to those who have had too much to drink.

A dozen bars and restaurants in the city will be offering $15 vouchers that can be used with a local cab company in order to get a free ride home.

The Buffalo Personal Injury Lawyers with the William Mattar Law Offices would also suggest calling Designated Drivers of Buffalo at (716) 713-7703 if you need a safe ride and are unable to get one of the vouchers. The firm also hopes everyone has a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day!
