Several Syracuse car accidents attributed to icy roads

The icy roads caused several morning accidents in New York, according to The Post-Standard. Four New York auto accidents happened between 8 and 9 a.m., according to police.

First, a bus slid into a storage shed after losing control down a steep driveway. No one was injured in the car accident and there was minor damage to the bus.

Next a woman crashed into a parked car in an icy parking lot when she lost control of her vehicle. Then a New York car accident happened when a woman lost control on a road and slip into oncoming traffic. Her vehicle was struck on the passenger side. Both drivers involved in the Syracuse car accident were treated for injuries at a local hospital and released. Police attribute seat belts to keeping them from having more serious injuries, as their cars were totaled.

Lastly, a man was ejected from his car and thrown about 40 feet from his vehicle after his car rolled over. A passenger in the vehicle was not hurt, but the man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his Syracuse auto accident injuries.

Second victim dies after Wednesday’s New York car accident

January 25, 2008

 A New York accident has claimed a second life, according to the Times Union. A driver crashed a vehicle into a barn, which flipped the vehicle and pinned the occupants inside.

 Rescuers had to cut the New York car accident victims from the wreckage. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the Wednesday crash while the driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment where she later died.

 Officials say speed was a factor in the fatal auto accident.

Teens sent to hospital after Utica auto accident

January 22, 2008

The Observer Dispatch reported that a Utica car accident sent three teenagers to the hospital Monday night.

The New York auto accident happened when a man failed to yield at a stop sign, forcing another driver to swerve in order to avoid hitting the car, instead crashing into a tree. The driver was ticketed with failure to yield the right of way in causing the Utica auto accident.

Driver seriously injured in New York auto accident

January 18, 2008

 A New York car accident hospitalized a man Friday, according to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. The man was seriously injured when he lost control of his car, hitting guardrails, swerving between lanes, and eventually become airborne after striking the median.

 The New York auto accident victim was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the pickup truck. He sustained head and internal car accident injuries and was charged with driving while intoxicated, according to police.

Snow, slick roads cause multi-vehicle New York auto accident

 The Interstate was backed up for miles after slick roads and snow caused several cars to slip off the road in a New York auto accident, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

 Officials said no one appeared to be injured and that traffic would be stalled but were called the scene minutes later where two New York car accident victims were taken to the shoptial for treatment.

Driver rear-ended, injured in New York truck accident

The Post-Standard reported that a woman was injured in a New York truck accident Friday morning.

The auto accident happened when the woman slowed down for a school bus and was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer. The New York car accident victim was taken to a Syracuse hospital by ambulance for her injuries, while the driver of the tractor-trailer was un-injured.
